Generating green energy with local community support
Located next to Saltø Å Saltø Solar Park can contribute additional renewable energy to the electricity grid.
Throughout the design and development phases, we have actively engaged in constructive dialogue and collaboration with the local community. The park's layout has been adjusted to fit the modifications made to the watercourse.
Community and nature initiatives
Local dialogue |
The dialogues throughout the planning process have been largely positive, with minimal remarks from citizens. The plan impacts a small number of people, and there has been appreciation for the benefits of integrating both solar and wind energy from the local area. |
|
Grazing sheep |
The sheep will make sure that grasses and herbs do not grow up and shade the panels. The animals get shelter from the solar panels and fresh grass, while the farmers take advantage of the open spaces. |
|
Natural hedgerows |
Establishing planting belts around the solar areas of the park, using native trees and shrubs, will create visual shielding. |
|
Exemption from protected waterways |
The design of the solar park has been adapted to the existing stream, Saltø Å, which has been re-meandered in a larger watercourse project. The park's layout has been adjusted to fit the modifications made to the watercourse. |
Situated in land zone with wind turbines
The park will be established south of Saltø Huse and west of Bistrup, with Næstved town about 4.5 km to the east.
The solar park will be situated in a land zone with existing energy production from wind turbines.
On the western side, the area is bordered by Saltøvej and to the south by the protected forest Ølskov. To the north and east, the area is bordered by open fields and planted dikes, and 200 meters east of the area runs the Saltø River.
